With summer just around the corner, New Zealand’s very own Mr Shake Your Shoulders Soul Brown returns with a sizzling hot new tune, Dangerous featuring New York based Tru-Hef and NZ-based Manuela.

The R&B-meets-Afrobeats-meets-reggaeton banger fuses English and Spanish and is the third release from Soul Brown’s upcoming EP.
Much like the EP’s previous singles - Weekends and Fire - Dangerous is a party tune designed to get you moving. “It’s fun, but at the same time, it’s dark,” explains Soul. “It’s three minutes of life on the edge, which speaks volumes for these times. It’s a song you listen to when you need a break from reality,” he adds.
Written about that feeling you get when you meet someone special and “it feels so good it’s gotta be bad for you but you keep coming back for more”, Soul called on two heavy hitters to feature on the song. “Tru-Hef brings that New York swag and Manuela provides that smooth, soulful Espanol,” says Soul. “I wanted ‘Dangerous’ to be hearty and to hit hard, so they were the two people I knew were best to help bring it to life.”
Dangerous also sees Soul return to the studio with long-time collaborator, Auckland-based producer Emmanuel Ensink. “Emmanuel is always really cool to work with but he was on another level with this one. I originally wrote ‘Dangerous’ as a Latin rock kind of groove but I wanted a more current sound and I think we nailed it.”
Hailing from South Auckland, Soul grew up surrounded by the vibrancy of the Pasifika cultures that flood Manukau. Born into a family that exposed him to eclectic genres, he has made his mark in Aotearoa’s music scene by blending Pacific flavour with Latino heat.
