Platinum Plus
Last month NZ On Air and the New Zealand music industry celebrated a major milestone, with the number of Phase Four-funded albums sold in New Zealand passing the million mark.
A Century Not Out
Kiwi Hit Disc is 100. The 100th volume of NZ On Air’s Kiwi Hit Disc New Zealand music compilations was delivered to radio in early December and to mark the milestone, we produced a very limited-edition best-of disc comprising “15 defining songs from the 15 years of Kiwi Hit Disc”, kicking off with Supergroove’s You Gotta Know from Kiwi Hit Disc #1 in 1993. The NZ On Air Kiwi Hit Disc series is arguably the most comprehensive collection of New Zealand popular music ever assembled.
On The Airways, Not Just The Airwaves
Next time you fly Air New Zealand, you will be enveloped by Kiwi music. Air New Zealand has gone 100% New Zealand music on board its 737 fleet and in its gate lounges and airbridges.
And New Zealand music videos will play before and after you give your attention to the safety message. We congratulate and commend Air New Zealand for this great move. Once upon a time, New Zealand music was invisible; today it is ubiquitous and Air New Zealand is certainly doing its bit.
