First Out Of The Gate: Salmonella Dub Are Finally Returning To Their Kōwhai

01 April 2022 - 0 Comments

After many months of uncertainty, at last Salmonella Dub are pleased to be able to announce the new dates for their Return To Our Kōwhai album release tour, now scheduled for Autumn 2022!

But sensing light at the end of the dimly lit live music tunnel, the mighty Salmonella Dub whanau have kept themselves on their toes and ready to go, deftly navigating the shifting sands that temporarily derailed their spring and summer touring plans by taking all the delays and resulting challenges firmly in their stride.

Never ones to rest on their laurels, they took each rare opportunity to gather together and rehearse their new tunes, working hard to keep their spirits high and their hearts in the process, and with the end goal in sight – to finally be able to perform their new album and more, to a live audience.

Finally, that time has arrived!

By keeping the engine running and the tour wheels in motion, this talented collective of musicians are first out of the gate, ready to deliver their well-oiled and finely tuned live show to their fans with five shows nationwide this April and May. Plus keep an eye out for a soon to be announced Northland show for June 25th, before the band head off to tour Australia!

First stop on their Autumn tour takes in Coroglen, and Whakatane on the long ANZAC Day weekend. The end of April sees them perform in Havelock North, followed by a concert in Marahau, before this short run of shows ends with what will certainly be a jubilant home-coming concert in Christchurch.

To celebrate this return to touring, Salmonella Dub re-present their latest video, the third single, title-track and tour namesake from the new album Return To Our Kōwhai.

A stunning video shot by acclaimed videographer Mark Russell during an autumnal road-trip up the East Coast of the South Island, it features phenomenal soul diva Whirimako Black and the beautiful imagery that Salmonella Dub’s music invokes.
