Dropped on the 13th of April 2022, Halina’t Sumayaw is the fiery first full length EP from Auckland band Brown Sugar Factory.
Halina’t Sumayaw is a 5-track predominantly house based EP sprinkled with elements of Funk, Disco and Dance. This EP culminates more than 6 months of work from the Brown Sugar Factory team and is born from the rawness of many bedroom studios throughout the isolations in New Zealand.
Brown Sugar Factory friends and fans alike can rejoice with a fresh funk house EP to bring in the spring period, drawing inspiration from bands such as Disclosure, James Brown & Daft Punk. “The band's leading track Harana Sosa originated from a sample on the eve of lockdown," comments lead singer Roberto Jatulan, “It is an excited funk filled tune written in the midst of the raw chaos of the world”.
Brown Sugar Factory recently played mainstage at a sold out AUM festival on 1st of January to bring in the New Year.
Recorded at Ulberg Studios in Orakei & Engineered by Ul3berg (Mr O600, Watson).
Mastered at Studios 301 in Sydney by Leon Zervos (Muse, Rihanna, Maroon 5).
Halina’t Sumayaw fires an inherent drive to be part of the freedom in a spring sunrise. Brown Sugar Factory will be presenting this EP in a full live format with a SOLD OUT EP Release Party on April 29th at The Bank Event Space / Pocket Bar.
