With the help of the NZ Music Commission, the SOLE Speaker Series is back just in time for NZ Music Month with a whole new lineup of industry professionals such as Tiki Taane, Mousey, Kamandi and Emma Dilemma. The Studio is the first of 5 live music business seminars, which is being held on Monday 2nd May from 7-9pm at SOLE Music Academy Studio in Addington, Christchurch.
The music business seminar and mentoring series, curated by SOLE founder and Neo-soul artist Sacha Vee and NZ Country Artist Katie Thompson, was established to support emerging Canterbury artists and upcoming music professionals by providing regular face to face events where attendees can meet with top industry figures to expand their network and knowledge.
Each 2hr event has one specific topic and three of the country's leading music industry professionals who cover everything you need to know about how to make and release your music successfully. Attendees are encouraged to come to all of the events and to make the most of the rare opportunity to book in 1:1 private mentoring sessions the following day.
In this event we are delighted to have one of New Zealand’s most well-known musicians and producers, Tiki Taane (Shapeshifter and Salmonella Dub); Local indie artist and incredible songwriter Mousey straight off the back of her NZ tour and the dream production team Josh Logan & Adam Hogan from local recording studio LOHO.
Together they will delve into the process of taking a song from demo to final produced track. They will also give you a better understanding of what to prepare for a studio session, how to choose a producer and what to expect from an artist and producer's point of view.

BACKGROUND
SOLE Music Academy is the brainchild of Sacha Vee, multi-platinum award winning artist and founder of SOLE Music Academy. Established to create a guided pathway for those seeking work in the music industry (artists, aspiring managers, promoters, producers etc.) and to solve the problem of local artists feeling isolated from the North Island music industry and the rest of the world.
For the past three years, SOLE Music Academy has provided quality music workshops, tuition and master classes in singing, songwriting, producing, artist development and music business to cultivate, support and empower music creatives to achieve a career in the music industry. They have already achieved much success and now boast 150 students and 10 inspiring mentors as well as a flourishing reputation within Christchurch and beyond.
As well as creating a world class academy, SOLE’s broader aim is to become the central music industry hub for Christchurch and surrounding regions so musicians can develop their careers locally by strengthening local networks and connections, and connect with industry heads locally.
