Emma Dilemma is excited to announce the concrete release date of her upcoming debut album, Spit, and the first date of her nationwide tour which are both set for Friday 1st July 2022.
The self-described ‘patron saint of self sabotage’ combines her penchant for viewing life through an absurdist lens with her love for melody and storytelling to create serious music that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
She spent 2021
releasing 6 songs and music videos, which were packaged into an EP titled Side A.
Throughout 2020 and 2021, Emma began building her reputation as a high-energy, dance-inducing rock act with live shows scattered between restrictions
alongside Villainy, at the Armageddon Expo, Christchurch’s Go Live! Festivals and private industry showcases. Missing out on performing her unprecedented 2 sets at NZ’s largest music festival, Electric Avenue, this past summer, she is now eager
to bring her Spit show to alt-pop-rock lovers around New Zealand.
Playing four intimate venues in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga (Solo & AA) these will be shows packed full of Emma’s chaotic energy not to
be missed.
Support acts TBC.

Emma Dilemma releases her second track of 2022 titled Temporary You, in the lead-up to her debut album Spit, today; Friday 6 May. This “bubblegum rock” song is a playful ode
to chaotic relationships that are destined to go the distance despite the ups & downs. Inspired by artists such as Weezer, Beck, and DeeLite, Temporary You packs an ear-candy punch with plenty of fun sounds and textures to spot during
the unavoidable dance party you’ll be having when you listen to it.
“This song started a much different life as a heavier rock song with my old band, Decades”, says Dilemma of the track. “I had a lot of fun stripping it apart and building
it up again with Le Sauvage to create a more pop/indie vibe with it which just makes me want to act silly and eat lots of lollies.” On the video, co-directed by Dilemma and Amber Beaton, she says, “I just wanted to get on screen the aesthetics I have
in my head when I listen to this song! Lots of bright colours, 90's vibes, and ridiculously joyful dancing”
