Space Lesbians is the new spacey-electronic love song by Aotearoa New Zealand producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Carawei.
Known for shaking the Auckland underground scene as a guitarist with her band Venom Dolls, Carawei’s single Space Lesbians is vibey and chill, with heartfelt lyrics and delivery.
“It started out as a house project for Uni, but then evolved into this really fun, queer song, that’s kinda nodding to astrology,” says Carawei.
Recorded, mixed and mastered entirely in her home studio, Space Lesbians is only the start of this project from Carawei, with plans to release an album at the end of the year.
The Auckland-based artist says that, as a queer woman, she discovered herself through music & performance. This includes her time with circus theatre company The Dust Palace - both on stage and behind the scenes. Carawei is the founder of ‘Milky Avenue Studios’, an LGBTQ+ music studio and creative community based in Ellerslie, and is the producer for an array of emerging kiwi artists, such as Phodiso and Ray Leslie.
With more music to be released, Carawei is an exciting new artist you'll want to follow
