Mako Road Announce Support Acts For Stranger Days Tour This June

18 May 2022 - 0 Comments

Currently on a sold out tour throughout Australia’s East Coast before making their way back home to Aotearoa, Mako Road are thrilled to announce some of the hottest local talent to support all four remaining tour dates for the (now twice) rescheduled Stranger Days Tour this June.

Kicking off in Dunedin on Wednesday 1 June at Catacombs, followed by Christchurch Town Hall on Friday 3 June, Ōtepoti band Juno Is with full band will support Mako Road at both shows.

Juno Is
is the project of Dunedin based drummer turned guitarist, Mackenzie Hollebon. Born as a home recording experiment in 2019, Juno Is has developed a distinctive sound full of rhythmic guitars, disrupting lead tones and lush layered vocals. Juno Is captures listeners ears with her self-written chill guitar and party-style songs.

At the newly announced Powerstation show in Auckland on Saturday 4 June, Eli Superflyy will warm the crowd. With a catalogue holding a variety of colourful sounds and emotions, Eli Superflyy’s music can best be described as ‘punchy-psych ridden indie pop’. With a live set up of three plus himself, his tunes truly come alive on stage, exuding youthful energy for the whole crowd to enjoy!

Fans heading along in Wellington’s Shed 6 on Sunday June 5 will be treated to local act Revulva before Mako Road take the stage. Featuring Nu-wave, nu-jazz goodness brewed up in Pōneke by the eight-piece band, their live sound is an exciting, theatrical and all-encompassing body experience. Guaranteed to make you grin and groove!

Mako Road kicked off their Stranger Days tour in Auckland last August with two massive sold out shows at the Powerstation, and then played stomping sets in Hamilton, Tauranga, and Napier before the COVID-19 lockdown. These dates were rescheduled to April this year, but were thwarted once again by Covid! At long last Mako Road will deal to this unfinished business playing the final four shows on the Stranger Days Album Release Tour!

Tickets are selling fast for all shows, don’t miss out on seeing Mako Road live in Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington this June!

New tickets from just $49.90 released in Christchurch!
