Jodi Vaughan sits on a Paihia Beach during the Bay of Islands Country Rock Festival, where she took the opportunity to film a music video, between shows, for the new duet on her album. The first duet with musical partner Brendan Dugan in 40 years. The duet single - I'll Be There For You from Jodi's new album, has the video in the post production, due for release in June, as news comes that her new album For the Love of Country takes out #1 on the NZ Top 20 albums list and #9 on the Official Top 40.

Ironically it is 40 years to the week, the platinum duet album Fairweather Friends took its highest position in the NZ album charts in 1982. Jodi hits the #1 position on the Official New Zealand Music Charts with the new album For The Love of Country this week.

There a number of firsts on this 10th studio album for Jodi Vaughan. It is the 1st time one of Jodi's albums has contained all songs which she has written herself (with a couple of co-writes) Showing her as the exquisite song writer she is. It is the first album she has self produced.

The first song The Card which was released for mothers day has entered the Country Songs Top 40 Airplay chart this week at #31.

Not resting on her laurels, Jodi has been back in the studio recording a single with Aly Cook for their Sisters in Country duo project EP. After entertaining the crowds of fans at Bay of Islands with Sisters in Country (Aly Cook & Jodi Vaughan) , a duo where they invite different women country music artists to perform as guests on every show.

Cook who is also the managing director of Tasman Records said

"It is a real pleasure and privilege to bring forth such an amazing body of work from Jodi on our label. The duet which is on Jodi's album will be a captured piece of New Zealand music history for the country's longest running and most loved country music duo . Brendan Dugan & Jodi Vaughan's names became synonymous with each other, as I grew up watching them on NZ Television every week for 8 years on 'That's Country' . This made them household names and it's an honour to work with them, as two of our most long standing New Zealnd entertainers with both of them having 50 years in the business..

Working with legacy artists is our theme on Tasman records and Jodi’s release was the perfect follow up to our licensing of Gerry Beckley (from the band America) album ‘Keeping the Light On’ last year releasing across Australia & New Zealand. It is great that we have terrific New Zealand legacy artists with NEW music to bring to the listener.”
