Perth based DnB master ShockOne has returned following recent hit Follow Me which saw the artist continue to push the boundaries for the bass music scene. On this new track Thinkin About,
ShockOne has teamed up with NZ music legends Lee Mvtthews to deliver an inspiring up-tempo dance track with a fiery DnB bed. The track combines an ethereal vocal topline with classic club music elements including
a huge bass line and textural drum beat that pushes the song into the mainstream with an infectious energy that is bursting at the seams.
This collaboration sees both artists use their impressive experience and ability in creating dynamic
bass focused music to deliver an instant classic in Thinkin About. The single is shining example of everything a collaboration should be, in terms of musical synchronicity and likeminded artistry, the song speaks for itself.
On the collaboration ShockOne shares, "Thinkin About was a really fun track to work on with Lee Mvtthews. It’s our first collaborative effort and I’m stoked with how it came out. I feel like this song really captures that feeling of hedonism and reckless abandon when you’re out at a rave with mates. I hope the audience feels the same way!"
Graham and Tom from Lee Mvtthews further share, “when Karl (ShockOne) sent us over the idea, there was nothing to think about, this was a no-brainer. It had all the elements of a great track, so we came in and connected the dots. With production reminiscent of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Kanine, and Flume, it's the perfect blend of rave and radio. ‘The vocals were initially written for another track, so to us, it kind of felt like a remix, and sometimes there's a magic in remixes seldom found in an original piece of work. This was a unique experience for us writing it and we hope it feels the same when listening to it.”
ShockOne has been making waves in the dance and electronic music scene for the past decade with his 2013 debut album Universus charting in the UK and New Zealand as well as landing at #1 in the ARIA album
charts. After this success and touring extensively across Europe as well as remixing singles for iconic artists such as DJ Snake, Dillon Francis, NGHTMRE & What So Not, the talented producer has gone on to start his own label Dark Machine Records.
This label was formed to help promote the extensive bass music scene across the region. In late 2020, ShockOne dropped hit single ‘Follow Me’ which was added to rotation on triple j, clocked over 6 million streams across
platforms and appeared in the top 20 on the Shazam chart here in Australia.
Lee Mvtthews are one of the biggest dance/electronic acts out of New Zealand / Aotearoa currently with a reputation for infectious, energetic drum and
bass music. The pair have gone from strength to strength winning ‘Best Artist’ 3 years running at the George FM awards as well as ‘Best Electronic Artist’ at the Aotearoa Music Awards in 2020. Across their discography the duo have amassed over 25
million streams with tracks like ‘Takeover’ reaching #17 on the Apple Music charts and #77 on Spotify Global charts. With all these past successes, Lee Mvtthews are looking to continue their exponential rise to the top of
the electronic music heavens.
