Phonographic Performances New Zealand (PPNZ) announced today the appointment of Kristin Bowman as the organisation’s new Managing Director.
Bowman succeeds Campbell Smith who retains his position as the CEO of The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ).
Bowman is a qualified lawyer and joins PPNZ from PureDepth, Inc. (www.puredepth.com) where she held the positions of Managing Director of the NZ based technical, legal and intellectual property teams, SVP – Corporate & Strategic Development and currently, SVP – Customer & Business Development.
RIANZ President and Chairman of PPNZ Adam Holt says: “After an intensive executive search, the PPNZ Board is thrilled to have been able to attract such a capable, vibrant and experienced executive to the role. Kristin brings a strong blend of legal and commercial know-how to PPNZ and mixes it together with excellent leadership qualities and vision.
“With Kristin heading PPNZ and Campbell leading RIANZ, the recording industry in New Zealand has a truly outstanding and talented team at the helm. The split in the management of RIANZ and PPNZ will enable both executives to focus closely on their respective roles and work together in building on the great progress both organisations have made since 2004,” Holt says.
Kristin Bowman says: “I am honoured to take up the position of Managing Director, PPNZ. I look forward to working with the Board, Campbell and the Team at PPNZ to continue to develop the business with vision and diligence for the sustained benefit of all stakeholders.”
Bowman joins PPNZ on May 26 2008.
