Music News - Speech Act Theory Live In Tauranga

Speech Act Theory Live In Tauranga

18 August 2022 - 0 Comments

Speech Act Theory (UK/NZ) will be bringing their live show to Tauranga for the first time on August 27, following a busy release schedule of four singles throughout the first half of 2022.

Speech Act Theory is the Tāmaki Makaurau based alt-electronica project of producer/musician Pete Hickman. Initially conceived as a studio project in late 2019, the concept was to fuse electronica and live instruments together - which has now developed into a high-energy 5-piece live band.

"It is refreshing and a very welcome change to hear something that harkens back to the classic trip-hop and downbeat era but with a modern spin" Muzic.net.nz

"With a nod to the 90s alternative/trip-hop stylings of the likes of Massive Attack, Zero 7 and Radiohead, it easily encompasses the best of those worlds while introducing its own unique and modern flavour". May Magazine.
