James Constable’s new single, I Want To Save Someone, is being independently released to all platforms on November 25th. Musically inspired by bands such as The Smiths, The Beatles, and the Sundays, the track muses on James’ romantic life… or lack thereof. James says about the song: “I had gone through most of high school having crushes on a few people, and I eventually came to the thought that maybe, just maybe, being single was my natural state. I already had the chord progression sitting around that I had jammed out a few months prior, and one night the first verse just fell out of me.”
James has made a bit of a splash in the Christchurch music scene over the past few years, having gone from playing small open mics to playing large events such as the North Canterbury Wine And Food Festival, and playing a number of headlining shows in the city. Now he is beginning to play further afield, having made his Dunedin debut at the Nook and Cranny Music Festival in May, and playing his first headlining show in Auckland at The Wine Cellar in September. James also released his most recent album, Tui, in June 2021, which has received just shy of 2000 streams on Spotify and received critical acclaim.
I Want To Save Someone is also the lead single from his upcoming album Interesting Times, scheduled for release in April 2023.
