New Zealand musician and singer Harper Finn released his debut EP Newcomer in 2022. The release features his latest single Different Skies, written in collaboration with Tobias Kuhn [Dean Lewis, Milky Chance]. Harper’s thoughtful pop arrangements are woven throughout Newcomer, including previous singles Conversations (With The Moon), She Said, Good For Me and Dance Away These Days, which was co-produced by five-time Grammy winner Cole MGN [Beck, Snoop Dogg, Blood Orange] and Tobias Kuhn. Dance Away These Days was certified Gold in New Zealand and ultimately led to him winning Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2021 Aotearoa Music Awards.
Dream pop duo Royel Otis is the brainchild of Sydney friends Otis Pavlovic and Royel Maddell. In 2021 the band released their debut EP Campus, which introduced Royel Otis as an Australian act to watch. In October 2022, Royel Otis unveiled the first single to feature on their upcoming EP Sofa Kings, Kool Aid and last week backed it up with their latest tune I Wanna Dance With You. The widely beloved tracks provide a dose of summery perfection that earned both local and international praise among Paper Mag, Purple Sneakers, NME, BBC Radio 1 and Apple Music 1. They have since received playlisting support from NME Radio, MTV, Rage and triple j,where Kool Aid climbed to the station’s #1 Most Played track.
Kool Aid followed the release of the duo’s sophomore EP, Bar & Grill earlier last year. They have since graced the covers of global playlists including Spotify’s Today's Indie Rock (US), Front Left, Indie Arrivals, Supersound, Apple Music’s Heaps Indie and more. The duo have amassed over 10 million streams this year alone, and garnered widespread playlisting support across community radio, US college radio and BBC Radio 6. Capping off a career-high year, Royel Otis have also been named in the NME 100 and Matt Wilkinson’s (Apple Music 1) ‘Ones To Watch’ list for 2023, after also featuring in his 2022 ‘Hidden Gems’ list with fan favourite, Oysters In My Pocket.
Mercury Prize winner's alt-J are touring in support of their 2022 album The Dream (Liberator Music/Infectious Music), which is the band’s first new work in five years. Peaking at #6 on the ARIA Chart and #16 on the RMNZ Chart, The Dream features singles U&ME, Get Better, Hard Drive Gold and The Actor. As their fourth studio record, it follows the chart-topping success of Relaxer (2017), This Is All Yours (2014) and An Awesome Wave (2012). Also premiering this week, alt-J lent their musical talents to KIA who used their hit Left Hand Free in their latest commercial – watch the video here.
The Dream Tour will be an electrifying live show that aims to bring friends together and leave the audience with the feeling that nothing in life could be any better than it is right now. Tickets via: frontiertouring.com/altj
