All tickets previously purchased from authorised outlets remain valid for the rescheduled show without the need for exchange. Patrons unable to attend the new date can obtain a refund from the point of purchase once the new show date is announced.
With much sadness today, the mighty Shapeshifter announces that Beach Break Nelson, which was due to take place on Waitangi Weekend 2023, has been postponed on the back of expert advice received regarding severe weather warnings for the South Island this weekend. The decision was made after evaluating the country's destructive and unsafe weather events this summer and wanting to give concertgoers who make travel arrangements to get to the show as much notice as possible.
Says Shapeshifter, "Another huge loss for Aotearoa summer, but we can't take any risks with the safety of fans, the crew, and all involved in putting on the event. We urge our fans around the motu to stay informed and keep clear of any severe weather."
A new date will be set for this event, and all tickets will remain valid for the new date. Shapeshifter continues, "We ask our fans for their continued support by holding on to tickets for the rescheduled date. We can't wait to rock Whakatū (Nelson) with you all."
Shapeshifter was scheduled to play their only South Island show this summer at Beach Break Nelson on February 5th - Waitangi Weekend 2023, where they were to be supported by KORA, My Baby, Muroki and Mamadafunk.
The postponement is the THIRD devastating blow for Shapeshifter, their fans and their crew this year. The announcement comes after having to postpone Whangamatā Beach Break last weekend and their January Matakana performance for the second year.
