Music News - Ruel announces two New Zealand dates for May 2023

Ruel announces two New Zealand dates for May 2023

07 February 2023 - 0 Comments

Live Nation & Secret Sounds is excited to announce that five-time platinum artist Ruel will be touring New Zealand throughout April 2023. The hugely anticipated tour will see the Australian trailblazer light up stages in Auckland & Wellington, hot off the release of his debut album 4th Wall, out Friday 3 March.

Tickets for the new show go on sale at 9am (local time) Friday, February 10 from livenation.co.nz

My Live Nation members can access tickets in an exclusive presale beginning 9am (local time) Thursday, February 9th.

Ruel is both a seasoned international performer and a record-breaking musician for tomorrow's generation. Since making his debut in 2017 when he was just fourteen, the London-born, Sydney raised artist has fast become one of his generation’s most influential musicians. Sitting with over 2 billion global streams and 1.2 million Instagram followers, the pop sensation also holds ground breaking records as the youngest artist ever to win Breakthrough Artist at the ARIA Awards and as the youngest musician to sell out the Sydney Opera House... twice.

It comes as no surprise that Ruel has caught the attention of the industry’s most respected individuals, with icon Elton John and musical tastemaker Zane Lowe, both championing his career developments. Alongside three sold-out world tours, Ruel has shared stages with Khalid, and Shawn Mendes, played Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival, and released collaborations with Denzel Curry, JVKE, Omar Apollo and Cosmo’s Midnight.

April will see Ruel bring his long-awaited debut album, 4th Wall, to stages across the country. The album, executively produced by M-Phazes (Khalid, Noah Cyrus, Remi Wolf), was originally heading down a Pop/R&B lane, however, the pandemic acted as a major personal and professional catalyst for Ruel. His matured identity galvanized his decision to forge his own creative direction and played a vital part in expanding his musical horizons. As a result, 4th Wall evokes a matured sound and elevated lyricism, bending between euphoric and contemplative realms of pop.

"SOOOO SO excited to tour AU/NZ again, playing at home is the best feeling ever, the crowds are always so energising and the vibe in the room is unmatched. It’s going to be so much fun to finally play the record live and share it with everyone in real time. These shows are always so special and I cannot WAIT to see everyone again." says Ruel.

Ruel has treated audiences to taster of the forthcoming record with the beautifully emotive ballad Must Be Nice. The track adds to an already striking list of releases from Ruel, including the dancefloor anthem, Growing Up Is _____, dream-like Let The Grass Grow and the poignant social and personal observations of You Against Yourself.

Now, three EPs deep (ReadyFree Time and Bright Lights, Red Eyes), the time is well and truly nigh for 4th Wall to take flight. Ruel is ready to reignite his position as one of the world's most exciting artists when he takes to stages across the country in April for these all ages shows. With three sold-out world tours already to his name, fans are encouraged to jump on tickets quickly when they go on sale from 9am local Friday 10 February.
