Music News - Traaps x Mixed Vege Collab 'Get Over You'

WhatsApp collaborators Traaps (Calum Robb) and Mixed Vege (Rodney Fisher), reconnected over lockdown from opposite sides of the globe in a creative supanova, resulting in their offering, Get Over You, an electrified dance/shoegaze offering with a trap beat working as its root system.
Scotland-based Robb (Black City Lights), who has an extensive background in sound design for film and gaming, laid down the bones of Get Over You, with Fisher (Goodshirt), layering vocals, the two building a luxurious sound that bathes in fuzzed-out shoegaze guitar.
"The Initial track hinted at this deep, textural track drowning in distortion. It felt really all-consuming, but there was a crack of light showing through which inspired the lyrics... it reminded me of getting through a tough time", says Fisher.
"It was great to connect with Traaps and develop a sound together. Singing over the landscape carved out by Calum, the words and melody just came to me".
Get Over You is available on all digital platforms on Friday, February 24th, 2023.
