Dual have released their newest single Lights Out - a punchy, powerful banger that will stop you in your tracks.
“I wrote this about the daily battle against anxiety and depression - pretending you're ok on the surface when deep down you're not, then having that realization you're not alone - that we’re all experiencing similar feelings.”
With strong vocal melodies accompanied by soaring guitars and epic drops, Lights Out is a track showcasing the duo's dynamic sound offering a glimpse into the EP to come.
Dual is Aotearoa NZ’s, genre-bending alt-rock duo made up of long-time friends Maurice Miller (lead vocalist) and Jamie Pyne (producer/guitarist). Hot off the back of their summer banger of the same name, Dual’s much anticipated new EP So Alive is a collection of honest songs written across Covid lockdowns – set for release date 31st March 2023.
The songs are a mix of upbeat, feel-good tracks, combined with empowering anthems. Including the playful summer jam Gummy Bear, the EP promises Dual’s infectious melodies paired with introspective musings.
“It’s personal music that’s an expression of how we were feeling about life, relationships and the crazy world we’re living in,” says Maurice.
“Making music helps me understand things I’m going through, and we hope these songs can give you some sort of hope or emotion and make the daily grind of life a bit easier… maybe they’ll make you feel a part of something bigger.”
