Investigator Unleash New Music Video & Single - 'Downtown'

10 March 2023 - 0 Comments

Investigator unleash Downtown - the dark, doomy, ominous last single off the album, Shade.

Downtown is not only a fitting end to the running order of singles, but also rounds out the record with heavy chug and thickening dread. Huge drums, angular guitars and that final big building chorus, this is the ultimate send off. There’s ample space with this slightly down-tempo, Muse styled track for Adrian to really gnarl into the vocals before opening up the throat at the finish.

A firm favourite, Downtown gelled with the band from the first few chords, it’s a real monster when played live and it usually comes last at every gig.

The song release is coupled with a music video, an opportunity to create another narrative. We see cityscape at pace, the hustle and bustle of downtown on overdrive, while a struggling homeless man just can’t seem to keep up, he’s invisible.

As always with Investigator, within the dark brooding space - there’s always a hint of optimism - and it’s that hope of light that forever guides them forward, into the unknown.

Downtown is out now on all streaming platforms.
