Māori NeoSoul, Pop and Funk artist Mohi has released the hit reo single of 2023 with his new waiata Tahuri Mai.
Following the release of his chart hitting singles Te Aroha Mauroa, Jasmine, and Te Atarau, Mohi (Ngāpuhi, Te Rarawa, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa) has released his latest waiata Tahuri Mai.
Bursting onto the music scene with his captivating voice and incredible compositions, Mohi’s latest love song is a slick, energetic waiata that takes us back to those summertime vibes.
Tahuri Mai is a funky, fresh, feel-good, reo rua (bilingual) waiata that delves deeper into the funk and neo soul sounds, growing Mohi's sound and bringing his infectious vocal to the forefront.
"I grew up in a strong Māori whānau where soul, funk and gospel music were the staple in our household. The feeling and finesse, the character and authenticity in their voices and musicality - I wanted to create a waiata that exuded that same feeling and vibe.”
Tahuri Mai is Mohi's first single of 2023 with the support and guidance of producer Dan Martin, co-written and produced with Dan. It also focuses on bringing his exceptional voice and his lyrical talents to the forefront to showcase a very special emerging talent.
