Ignite, the eight-week music industry specific training programme from Big Fan, is wrapping up for round one. The successful rangatahi involved in Ignite’s Event Management stream have been hard at work organising four gigs that will take place across April and and in NZ Music Month in May. Held at Big Fan’s purpose-built music venue, these gigs will each raise proceeds for a different charity.

The Ignite Programme is a nurturing and empowering programme for rangatahi with a passion for music and events and covers three streams: Event Management, Event Production and Music Production.
Ignite’s unique aim is to teach rangatahi not only creativity, but also complementary skills to support them on their journey in the business, while also exposing them to the incredible breadth of career pathways and opportunities that exist within it.
Available to rangatahi aged 15 – 18 in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, the first intake of Ignite provided one-on-one mentoring with experienced industry professionals, seminars and hands-on workshops, practical experience, venue tours, and the application of learned skills such as promoting and running a live event. A second intake for Ignite will launch later in the year.
