Full of jaunty movement and sparkly guitars, this is time travel. Wet Mouth is the second single from the forthcoming sophomore album Dog from Jazmine Mary, 2022’s Auckland Live Best Independent Debut award winner. Wet Mouth was Produced by Mary and recorded in the mountains of the South Island at sublime studios amongst frozen puddles with bandmates, Peter Ruddell, Dave Khan and Courtney Rodgers. This is the follow up to first release Seagull. Wet Mouth is a delusional romanticism, a dishonest taste of small town Australia, in which Mary grew up in.

“The memory is a liar and a thief, I find that nostalgia is wildly rose tinted and I have painted these pictures of my past and self that are completely fabricated. There is a romance to being from somewhere no one you love has been - but the reality is like sand stuck in my teeth. There is a grounding and hope I’m exploring here. I can come back to my body and sensation and love and some kind of earthly spirit shit, wet mouth dah.” - Jazmine Mary
Wet Mouth comes to us holding hands with visuals created by Jazmine Mary and Annabel Kean (Sports Team). A sleepy seaside town with a red truck, motorcycle, fire in their hearts and a bag piper they picked up along the way.
Wet Mouth is made with support from NZ on Air and released on May 5th with their Sophomore album Dog to follow on June 2nd. A national Dog album release tour will follow in July.
