Home briefly after releasing her latest record in America, Miriam Clancy’s Black Heart is a melodic Gen X explosion of heart, rage and release reminiscent of the great female artists at the fore of 90’s alt music and the era’s definitive sonic aesthetic.
Miriam will be performing an exclusive solo show at The Wine Cellar in Auckland on Wednesday 10 May, featuring songs from Black Heart and a sneak preview of her next album with UK producer Mike Hedges.
The support act on the night is Rodney Fisher. No one with ears who lived in New Zealand in the early-2000's could have escaped the voice and songs of Rodney Fisher and his band Goodshirt. After a debut, DIY-made, platinum-selling album of quirky hits like Sophie and Blowing Dirt, Fisher toured the world as part of a journey that has now set him up as an embodiment of what it means to be a Kiwi musician: an utterly unique songwriter, musician and entertainer that can instantly fill a room with singing and spark.
