After Aanvi’s poem "Creativity is in you" was recognised in the Potential Plus UK International Poetry competition, in 2020 she discovered that she could use her words to write songs. Aanvi was then enrolled at Eliette’s Music Academy, where she had singing lessons with Vesa Luma and Sophie Gibson. In 2020, she was awarded Songwriter of the Year at the academy, and in 2021, her song Music Is My Religion won the Kids Songwriting Competition. That same year, she was named Rockstar of the Year. In 2022, her song Auckland Anthem won Best Junior Song at the HookLineAndSingalong competition, run by the NZ Music Commission.
In 2021 Aanvi was accepted into Access All Areas, a music programme through Establish Music. Aanvi was the youngest person to be selected for the programme. Her success in the programme has led her to being mentored in songwriting by Frances Dickinson, who has worked with some of New Zealand’s top artists, including Lorde and Six60.
Aanvi has previously released the singles Music Is My Religion and I See You, the latter of which was dedicated to the people of Ukraine, and recognised by former prime minister Jacinda Ardern, with Aanvi receiving a handwritten note that even her daughter Neve had enjoyed the song.
Aanvi has a passion for music and big dreams of becoming the youngest Kiwi artist to win a Grammy Award. She is ready to share her music with the world.
