Out now, 'Prediluvian' is a taster for the upcoming Anecdata album, 'Aucklantis'

21 September 2023 - 0 Comments

Written as the city was still drying out after the record-breaking Anniversary Weekend rainfall in January 2023, Aucklantis blends droning acoustic guitars, shimmering electrics, blazing synths and cutting lyrics aimed at the city's ineffectual leadership.

Eschewing the fuzz power chords of the previous album If I Was PM…, Aucklantis instead trades in chorused guitars and echoed everything, aiming to capture the vibe of a year climate change re-emerged from the long shadow cast by Covid-19 as the biggest long-term threat.

Prediluvian also carries a few b-sides, songs that didn't make the cut for the album - but definitely preview its sound and tone.

Get it from Bandcamp, or check it out on any of the streaming sites.

Aucklantis will be available from October 6.
