Cloudy and Bridges will be performing their new material at Tāmaki Makaurau’s local creative hub, Movespace. The evening will consist of mulled wine and sweet tunes from both artists, sure to warm your soul.
Since her debut, singer-songwriter enchantress Cloudy has become a crowd and editorial favourite. Cloudy’s love for song-writing began within the walls of her bedroom: her haven of vulnerability and creativity. With the company of her guitar and ukulele, she has harnessed a uniquely intimate and alluring sound she now performs to many eager listeners.
Over the last couple of years, Cloudy has dedicated her time to exploring her sound further, working alongside producer Morgan Allen (Lévyne, Erny Belle, Strangely Arousing). The upcoming EP is a testimony to this journey, where listeners can expect what Cloudy describes as her “most authentic sound yet.”
Her newest release Grapefruit is definitively Cloudy with delicate ukulele strums and heart-wrenching vocals. Grapefruit comes ahead of her long-awaited sophomore EP, Raincloud. Raincloud unpacks the nature of changing relationships, a relatable testimony for young women navigating love and loss.
Christchurch-born, Auckland-based New Zealand artist Bridges is quickly gaining momentum after transforming her sound from an acoustic singer and songwriter into a fully-fledged indie-pop act, performing live with her powerful four-piece band. Recently opening for Aussie breakthrough act Teenage Dads at Auckland’s Tuning Fork with her captivatingly bold and engaging live act, Bridges is just getting started.
Okay, Alright is the third single to come from Bridges’ latest chapter, following the recently released Gone; covered in tastemaker blog Coup de Main and NZ Herald’s ‘Songs Of The Week’. Previous to this was the upbeat and empowering track, Pills, which, supported by NZ On Air, received widespread local media coverage including features on MTV, Sun FM, and The Hits, with playlist inclusion from the likes of Spotify’s The Local List Aotearoa, and Apple Music’s Breaking Pop and New In Pop.
Get ready for more to come; with a penchant for meaningful and clever song-writing, Bridges is without question a rising talent, who deserves your full attention.
Witness both Cloudy and Bridges’ talents in one intimate pō on the 12th of October.
