Exciting new Taranaki talents The Mons Whaler drop their debut EP Won’t Let You Go and accompanying title track video today.

For this EP, founding members Hemi Coates (vocals/guitar), Andre Peri (percussion/backing vocals), and Phil Hoskin (bass guitar/backing vocals) engaged the immensely talented Courtnay Low (keys/lead guitar/backing vocals) to join them in the studio and
for live performances.
Bringing their swampy alt-blues fuzz tones, tight rhythm section, and velvet vocals together, The Mons Whaler deliver 4 tracks of their signature neo-vintage sound in all its glory, to warm the ears and hearts of music lovers with this compact preview of the new full-length album set for release later this year.
Gorgeous title track Won’t Let You Go is a dreamy fusion of coolly controlled blues, rock and soul, propelled by a leisurely groove enhanced by soulful keys and harmonious silky-smooth backing vocals. The end result is a song that emanates a spellbinding vibe, perfectly augmenting Coates’ suave, earthy vocal, allowing it space to shine.
Complementing the music, Won’t Let You Go is accompanied by a beautifully shot performance video, filmed and edited by local film and video creatives Fused and Soel Creative , it’s warm, muted tones perfectly encapsulating the delicate mood of the song.
