Guardian Singles have just released a disquieting video for Pit Viper, the most recent single from their album Feed Me To The Doves.
Director Luke McPake, who also directed
the animated Manic Attraction clip, captures Guardian Singles' singer/guitarist Thom Burton in "a semi-beautiful nightmare, in which I am clearly the hero" (which may or may not be a good thing).
With cinematography by Dave Garbett (Evil Dead Rise, Sweet Tooth) and sound design by i.e. crazy,
our hero finds himself in an desolate forest, battling an unknown force – is it friend or foe?
The video was shot in Woodhill Forest, courtesy of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara, and the video was made with the support of NZ On Air.

"Pit Viper secured its place on my Top Tracks of 2023 list upon first listen. Like a jangle-pop band covering a hardcore number, or vice versa, this one hits a sweet spot of both tunefulness and power, no mean feat." – Glenn,

"When Guardian Singles took the stage at Virtual Gonerfest
my jaw dropped from the first note... Within 7 minutes I crashed their Bandcamp trying to buy a record...If this record had come out in 1981 we would be talking about it like a post-punk classic." - Paula Abdul Jabar, Reddit
