Hamilton rock act Haast Hunter share their latest single Serpent Seeker, a stirring emotive alt-rock track soaked in 90's guitar and atmospheric melodies.
The theme for the track came to vocalist/guitarist James Harper as he was spending an afternoon and pondering people's actions. "Why do people keep chasing the same toxic people, expecting a different outcome other than what negative experiences they have already had? Why do people get stuck in a constant cycle? Why is it so common? It's very rare to see someone say 'no, no more'. So this song is for them. Hopefully it inspires some to make change, who knows?"
Featuring band mates James Harper, Richard Oranje and Chris Gudsell, Haast Hunter though jovial in person are serious in the writing room, constantly evolving their craft while collectively seeking solace in music in the ever-changing rhythms of life. Formed six years ago in Hamilton, Aotearoa, Haast Hunter seek to unlock emotions that weave through the depths of despair, to the varying heights of euphoria, and everything in between.
Serpent Seeker will be available on all digital platforms from Friday the 13th of October, 2023, followed by a three-date tour with The Sun Gods - tickets are available from undertheradar.co.nz.
Tour details:
Friday 27 October - Last Place, Hamilton
Saturday 28 October - Voodoo Lounge, The Mount
Friday 3 November - Dead Witch, Auckland
