Dirty Funk n Soul Innovators The Feel Good Service Unleash the Music Video for 'Hands'

20 October 2023 - 0 Comments

After nearly a decade of writing and touring with the likes of JLo, Jidenna, Big Krit, Flo Rida, Black Eyed Peas, CeeLo Green..to name a few. Lucy Graves and Andre 'MoDre'' Brown, the dynamic duo behind The Feel Good Service, have established themselves as pioneers of DirtyFunknSoul in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Their signature genre is a fusion of Feel-good heavy grooves layered with retro synths, and nostalgic melodies, delivered with sweet and sexy vocals that transcends time and invites listeners to get up and dance.

In June 2023, The Feel Good Service released their DirtyFunknSoul single Hands, now, they're unveiling their much-anticipated music video offering a taste of what's to come on their forthcoming album DirtyFunknSoul set for an early 2024 release. Shot by New Zealand legend, director, cinematographer and Lucy’s father Chris Graves. The visuals showcase their commitment to creativity, family and, pays homage to different eras and cultures close to their hearts.

The music video kicks off with a heartwarming scene featuring their daughter, Stella, engrossed in watching mum and dad on TV. This moment encapsulates their identity as a family band, and Stella's presence isn't just symbolic; she's a living testament to their musical odyssey. From shared songwriting sessions to tender recording moments, Stella is an integral part of their creative process.

"We are a family, a couple, and that's a narrative we embrace wholeheartedly. It's a part of our superpower. Our story, and the birth of our daughter, is woven into the fabric of our music" MoDre emphasises.

Berklee College of Music alumni Lucy Graves and Andre 'MoDre'' Brown are on a mission to dispel the myth that dreams and family life are mutually exclusive. "It’s okay to follow your dreams and be a family. Society often dictates that once you have a family, dreams must take a backseat. We're living proof that both can flourish in tandem. It comes with challenges, but it's an extraordinary journey. We wouldn't have it any other way," Lucy adds.

Following on from their last singles Karma, and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, The Feel Good Service bring us a slick follow-up with their latest music video, Hands. A groove-inflicting sonic gift with a slight touch of 80’s Funk and R&B reminiscent of songs crafted by some of music’s royalty. With such a catchy hook and infectious groove, Hands is guaranteed to get you up out of your seat and onto the dance floor!
