A special 20th anniversary tour calls for an audio remastering of the video for Teaboy, the atmospheric first track that set the vibe for Cloudboy’s celebrated opus, Down at the End of the Garden.
Filmed in 1999 in the historic precinct of Oamaru and featuring the sights and attendees of a Victorian fête in and around Donna Demente’s renowned Grainstore Gallery, Teaboy captures the refined and elusive essence of the opening of Cloudboy’s Down at the End of the Garden album. In what is now a bygone era – the 1990's – identities are subverted, genders are swapped, and everyone seems almost gleefully content in this dreamy, pre-steampunk world of make-believe, a mirror of the insular hotbed of creativity that flourished in Dunedin at the time.
Featuring Demarnia Lloyd, Johannes Contag, Sally Rees, Heath Te Au and Donna Demente. Filmed and edited by Allan Thomasson. Remastered by Allan Thomasson and Nigel Braddock.
