The buying frenzy has started and Jim Beam Homegrown is looking set to sell out once again. With less than 3 weeks to go until 32 of New Zealand’s finest acts descend on the Wellington Waterfront, music fans are making sure they don’t miss the year’s biggest celebration of Kiwi music.
Bands too are gearing up for one of their favourite gigs of the year. After a year away heavy hitters Shihad are back to headline the rock stage and the Indie stage sees the return of The Mint Chicks and The Checks. Reggae legends Katchafire and The Black Seeds are back for a 3rd time as are Kora who after a huge Big Day Out are headlining the dub and roots stage. Acts making their Homegrown debut include Midnight Youth, Dane Rumble, Liam Finn, The Upbeats, The Open Souls, Cut Off Your Hands and The Datsuns.
The past two years have seen ticket prices for the sold out festival go for up to $500 on Trade Me; the few tickets that are left are only $90 from Ticketek, for schedules and site map visit http://www.homegrown.net.nz/
