Kirsten Morrell (ex-Goldenhorse) releases 'Harry' from forthcoming album 'Morrellium'

13 November 2023 - 0 Comments

Kirsten Morrell is well known for her sparkling career with Goldenhorse who released three multi-platinum selling albums and had such a long-lasting impact that they’ve been covered by everyone from Lorde to Hans Pucket to Erny Belle.

Kirsten Morrell then released a solo album, before relocating to London and joining one of the city's leading symphonic choirs, Crouch End Festival Chorus, who perform high profile shows such as the BBC Proms. During the Covid-19 lockdowns, she began writing new solo material. She then worked with award-winning engineer/producer Clint Murphy (Manic Street Preachers, Kimbra) to bring these to fruition, along with contributing musicians guitarist Ben King (Goldenhorse) who plays banjo on Harry, bassist Alan Gregg (The Mutton Birds),  guitarist Barkin Sertkaya, keyboardist Stephen Small and violinist Adrien De Croy.

Kirsten says of the song:

"Harry takes its title from a time that possibly doesn’t exist anymore, when growing up in rural Cornwall we were dropped home in a minibus and I would wander past the neighbour Harry’s Farm. Harry had a Shire horse farm and grew a huge field of Dahlias. Every now and then he’d run out with a bunch and say ‘give these to yer mam’. So I would.”
