Today, Laneway Festival announces a line-up change for the 2024 edition of the Trans-Tasman touring festival. Suki Waterhouse can no longer perform at Laneway Festival next year, but in exciting news, Grammy-nominated, Emmy-winning rapper Cordae is jumping on the 2024 bill.
Laneway Festival says “We were so looking forward to having Suki Waterhouse along to Laneway Festival next year, but due to personal reasons, she can't make the trip to Australia and New Zealand in February next year. We can't wait to welcome Suki back to Laneway in the future when the timing is right. Until then, we wish her all the best and will keep her on repeat.”
In addition to this, Laneway is proud to announce that for the first time Laneway Festival New Zealand is R16. Bringing the festival in line with Australia, and reflecting Laneways kaupapa to engage and grow fans of live music and up and coming artists, a new Under 18 ticket type will go on sale Thursday 23 November at 8am NZDT. “It has been clear from the feedback from our fans that there is strong demand to accommodate the next generation of music fans,” says Laneway Festival co-founder Danny Rogers. “We are thrilled to now be able to welcome them through the gates in 2024.”
A strictly limited allocation of tickets at our first-release price will go on sale next Thursday 23 November at 8am NZDT.
Get to know Cordae…
The 26-year-old rapper from North Carolina is one of his generation’s most trusted narrators, depicting life’s trials, tribulations and triumphs with poetic perspective and without filter. Cordae’s 2019 full-length debut The Lost Boy took him from humble beginnings to stratospheric success. With an impressive list of collaborators including Anderson .Paak, Chance The Rapper, Pusha T and more, Cordae landed in the Top 15 of the Billboard Top 200 with four gold-certified singles and two Grammy Award nominations (Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song).
In 2022, Cordae dropped his sophomore album From A Bird’s Eye View (enlisting the likes of Freddie Gibbs and Lil Wayne for stand-out collabs). Next up, he won an Emmy, Television’s most prestigious award, for his musical contributions to the Netflix series We The People, co-produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. In 2023, Cordae’s momentum is full-tilt with three stand-alone singles, a massive North American tour with NF and over 1 billion streams to his name. Heading to NZ for the very first time since 2020, catch him at Laneway Festival 2024.
