After 2 very successful collaboration shows as part of the Spiegel Fest in 2022, Turkey The Bird goes brass is back!
This November Turkey The Bird is teaming up with the giant, 40 piece Hawera Brass Band again for three very unique performances around the Taranaki region.
New Zealand's folk trio Turkey The Bird will remind you of the famous Margarita cocktail, infused with a hint of Simon & Garfunkel, 2 ounces of Mumford and Sons, a splash of banjo, served on ice on a sunny day, but this time it’s placed on a huge plate of shiny brass.
Together they will perform a unique and fun collaborative live show that features brassy arrangements of catchy folk songs from both of Turkey The Bird’s chart topping studio albums.
Hailing from the New Zealand left coast town New Plymouth, this uplifting band will hit you with beautiful three part harmonies and toe tapping rhythms.
The bearded trio features Andre Manella from Switzerland on guitar, bass and percussion, Adrian Whelan from Ireland on guitar, bass and spoons, and Sol Bear Coulton, the token kiwi, on Banjo and slide guitar.
On Friday 24th November they will play at the Hawera Memorial Hall, on Saturday 25th November at the 4th Wall Theatre in New Plymouth, and on Sunday 26th November at Everybody’s Theatre in Opunake.
Tickets for the New Plymouth show are available from 4thwalltheatre.co.nz or the box office 0800 484 925.
Tickets for Hawera and Opunake are available on eventfinda.co.nz, the south Taranaki I-site and coastal care in Opunake. Youths up to 17 years are free to attend in the company of an adult for both shows in Hawera and Opunake.
