Diggy Dupé Releases New Single 'We The City' Out Now

01 December 2023 - 0 Comments

Acclaimed Grey Lynn raised, Niuean artist Diggy Dupé is back with the release of his new single, We The City. This dynamic release marks a significant milestone in the artist's career, promising to elevate his reputation as one of New Zealand's most talented and influential musicians.

We The City is a sonic journey that embodies the essence of city life, delivering a powerful message of unity and pride in one's hometown. The track masterfully combines Diggy’s hot takes on life in Auckland City, all laid down over a Smokeygotbeatz (SWIDT) signature infectious beat. With Diggy’s undeniable charisma, We The City sets the tone for a big night out, and while he’s usually out hitting the pavement running through this very city these days, Diggy wanted to pen a track that that talked about the impact that his neighbourhood of Grey Lynn has on the culture of hip hop, before moving into shouting out people around him, his peers, mentors and others who make Auckland City the vibrant and culturally diverse place it is today.

"I wanted We The City to be an anthem that represents the energy, diversity, and unity found in our city. It's a celebration of who we are and where we come from," says Diggy about his latest creation.

Diggy Dupé, known for his lyrical prowess and distinct sound, has been a prominent figure in New Zealand's music scene. His previous releases have received critical acclaim and gained him a devoted fan base. With three albums, two EP’s, an APRA screen music award, an Aotearoa Music Award and two Pacific Music Awards to his name, Diggy Dupé has cemented himself as one of Aotearoa’s favourite sons. We The City is sure to continue this trend, showcasing his growth as an artist and his unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of his craft.
