Robots in Love are proud to share their latest track, Alien Love, an electro-pop/indie wonder that oozes pure fun. Combining live drums and bass with intricate electronics, Robots in Love create tracks that begin with a whisper, and build to stadium-shaking peaks.
Telling the take of an alien coming to earth and falling in love with a mannequin named Aurora (named after Aurora Bay from Outrageous Fortune), the accompanying self-made video brings Alien Love to life in the most playful way. The blue-skinned creature lists many attributes, including having seventeen fingers and four hearts.
Robots in Love features bandmates Elenor Rayner, Alex Burchell and Tony Lumsden, who between them have amassed a multitude of musical achievements. Alex is a multi-instrumentalist and a prog-metal producer under the name Angels Unchained, while Tony has recorded and toured with talented musicians Hello Sailor, Shona Laing, Rikki Morris and more. Elenor has credits on more than 70 releases as a vocalist, producer and remixer, touring the world including a festival on top of a mountain in Japan, supporting uber-goth band Covenant in New York City, and travelling around Europe with her project The Crystalline Effect. She also has many solo sets under her belt, such as the Vampyre festival in Auckland, Gathering Shadows in Wellington, and the big Melbourne dance festival Every Picture Tells a Story.
Speaking of the track, Elenor says, "I constantly create music to express feelings. It’s an absolute drive within me. With Alien Love, I started with handclaps and synth riffs which gave it the dance vibe then the story began to form in my mind and the moment I had the idea to rhyme frottage with corsage, I knew I had a really cute song on my hands. Then I filmed and edited the video which kept me laughing the whole time".
