Emily Bateman Releases Latest Single 'You're On Your Own, Kid'

21 February 2024 - 0 Comments

Finding comfort in music from a young age, Emily Bateman is developing her own musical world. Full of ethereal vocals and introspective lyricism, her music has been described as ‘undeniably nostalgic’ (Happy Magazine, 2023). She has been recording her debut EP with drummer and engineer, Tom Broome, for the past few months. With two releases under her belt, Emily shows no sign of slowing down.

Emily Bateman is releasing her third single You’re On Your Own, Kid today. Produced by Tom Broome, this latest offering delves into a darker, edgier sonic landscape, exploring themes like escapism and familial pressure.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Lana Del Rey, Big Thief, and Mazzy Star, Emily skilfully blends folk, pop, and rock elements to craft dreamy ballads and indie-pop numbers. With her debut EP on its way, Emily Bateman gives us another taste of what’s to come with You’re On Your Own, Kid.
