DMY Foundation is proud to present this event as part of the Hamilton arts festival Toi Ora ki Kiirkiriroa.
This presentation is a symposium for independent musicians who want to learn some of the essentials of the music industry.
Three industry professionals guide you through the importance of music copyright and collecting royalties, a brand new music streaming service, and hands-on tips on how to improve the quality of your home studio recording sessions. Guest speakers:
Trevor Faville: DMY Foundation, DateMonthYear, Everlasting Bonfire, secondary music specialist teacher at Te aho o te Kura Pounamu.
Lora Thompson: Head of Department, Audio Production at SAE, The Sour and Empress.
Brendan McCarthy: Owner of Backbone Music Services, Apollo SteamTrain and Orpheus Mac.
DMY foundation's Trevor Faville says “the intent for this is to take a granular, nut-and bolts approach to three specific topics, featuring speakers who are experienced in their respected fields, and very much still practitioners in the independent music landscape. I am especially excited to have been given this opportunity by organisers of the Hamilton Arts Festival”
