Please Give Blood's new single explores 'Deep Brain Stimulation'

16 February 2024 - 0 Comments

Dee and Kay Blood are Please Give Blood – two seasoned musicians who've joined forces on an adventure into psychedelic electronic art rock.

“We still believe in the power of music, of song-writing, in that sonic hand to hold through those dark nights of the soul”.

Please Give Blood channel strands of goth, punk and post-punk, with strange overtones of Television, Wire, Magazine and the rockier side of 80's New Wave.

Deep Brain Stimulation is the first single from their forthcoming debut album Songs for the Long Disaster.

Kay Blood (guitarist/lead vocalist) describes Deep Brain Stimulation as “running down a virtual highway, thinking you’re free within nature. But actually you're lost in the echo chamber of an algorithm which now simulates the nature of your existence, with birds, churchyards, and the weight of nettles brushing against your legs.

A lonely existence in the company of what can be reproduced as reality. The future as dopamine-infused isolation in an ever-expanding machine.”
