Ghost Score, the electronic music moniker of NZSO violinist Alan Molina, recognised for his collaborations with acclaimed bands such as Okkervil River and Sun Kil Moon, is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of his debut EP, 00, scheduled to drop on 12 April 2024.
00 marks Molina’s first solo endeavour, showcasing his creativity in a new light. Drawing from a number of diverse musical experiences, the EP offers a blend of classical and contemporary elements, creating a sound signature that is equally unique and varied.
“I believe there’s something for everybody in all genres of music,” says Molina, who plays violin as a member of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. “This EP may sound like a large departure from my classical background, but it incorporates elements from various music styles that I love, from violin and symphonic compositions to left-field electronic works.”
From the opening track's atmospheric buildup to the closing piece's driving breakbeat rhythms, 00 guides listeners through a number of diverse influences and presents a varied collection of intricate beats and unique synth textures.
00 will be available for streaming and download on all major music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp, on 12 April 2024.
