Country, soul and rock 'n' roll reprobates Sin City were formed in the arid streets of Alicante, Spain where
longtime friends (both previously of garage punk rockers The Cavemen) Nick Armstrong (piano, organ, vocals) and Jack Beesley (guitar, vocals) spent several months writing songs inspired by their mutual love of country, soul and
rock 'n' roll records of the 1950's, 60's and 70's.
The pair returned to Aotearoa/New Zealand and recorded the debut Sin City album Welcome To Sin City (2022) with producer, and Kiwi country Svengali, Delaney Davidson, before crossing the ditch to
Melbourne and expanding their line-up to include Christopher Hockey, Andrew Blackman and Cameron Hicks. This five-piece powerhouse have since been tearing up the floorboards of pubs and dive-bars across Australia with their heady mix of 70's rock 'n' roll
and country-soul, gracing the stage with local and international greats including Jenny Don't & The Spurs, Sweet Talk and Foggy Notion.
Following the release of their recent singles Am I The One You Love, Candy (with a video featured on
CMT and Juice TV), and Big City Streets, which premiered on Tower of Song on Double J, online with Country HQ and featured on ABC Country's Edge of Country – the band now cast their superb new album out into the world.

Recorded
over four wintery days in a barn in the Castlemaine countryside, Sin City loosened the creative reins and captured their raw and vital live sound across 11 country, soul, RnB and rock 'n' roll songs that comprise Another Round, the title alluding to
the common setting of many Sin City songs – late night bars and the goings on inside. "Sin City do frequent such establishments," they confess, "so Another Round captures the rowdy, carousing spirit of the band!"
"What connects these songs is that
they all felt natural when played live with the full band, "says Beesley. "Most of the arrangements had been fleshed out in rehearsal before we hit the studio or through playing the songs live on stage."
"It was pleasure and privilege to use Alex Bennett's space at Sound Recordings and the set-up he has there was amazing!"
enthuses Beesley. "Recording and mixing in a fully analogue setting was the perfect way to bring these songs to life in the way we first envisioned as a band."
With hands-on mixing from the band and not a computer screen in sight, Jack and Nick brought their songs to life; songs which were born from experiences as a touring band and the trials and tribulations of love won and lost.
From the soulful
(think Clarence Carter!) exploration of the insecurities of a love triangle (Am I The One You Love?) to the Motown R&B shakedown of 'I'm Your Man' and the gospel-tinged balladry of Loving Arms, Sin City show the stylistic range they're capable of alongside the more traditional country
and rock 'n' roll songs such as Gin and Tonic, the Stones groovin' hitchhiking rocker Don't Ask Me Twice and Mamma Please Let Me In.
On the back of this sophomore album, Sin City are poised to deliver
their rough and rowdy sound to wider audiences across Australia and the world.
Another Round is out now digitally via Bandcamp, Spotify and other streaming services.
