Amy Shark Announces Eagerly Awaited Australian and NZ Dates for October and November

28 May 2024 - 0 Comments

One of Australia’s premier pop successes, 8 x ARIA Award winner Amy Shark, has today announced The Sadness Tour – a headline tour of Australia and New Zealand in October and November that will follow the August 16 release of her upcoming third studio album Sunday Sadness.

The Sadness Tour will be Amy Shark’s first headline tour since her massive 60-date run across Regional Australia in 2022, and her first Australian capital city headline shows since 2021’s Cry Forever Tour. Shark will begin The Sadness Tour in Auckland on Saturday 12 October before heading to Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, then wrapping up in Perth on November 2.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Tuesday 4 June at 9am local time.

My Live Nation members can secure tickets first during the My Live Nation presale beginning 10am local time, Friday 31 May until 8am local time, Tuesday 4 June.

Mastercard cardholders have special access to presale tickets in Australia & New Zealand starting from Wednesday 29 May, 9am until Friday 31 May, 9am. Preferred ticket access is available to Mastercard cardholders in Australia & New Zealand on Tuesday 4 June, 9am. Visit www.priceless.com/music to find out more.

In anticipation of the tour Shark said, “I can’t wait to get back on the road to see you all and bring this new record to life on stage. I’m really proud of this album and am so excited to perform it live, as well as all your favourite tracks. Counting down the days!”

Shark’s most recent singles, Loving Me Lover, the gold-accredited Can I Shower At Yours and Beautiful Eyes follow the plethora of hits such as the 7x Platinum Adore, 7x Platinum and APRA Song Of The Year I Said Hi, 4x Platinum Mess Her Up, 2x Platinum Everybody Rise, Gold accredited single C’Mon and 2x platinum Love Song’s Ain’t For Us from her two previous ARIA #1 albums Cry Forever and Love Monster.

Adore kickstarted the first of many worldwide tours for Shark, who would later go onto win an ARIA Award in 2020 for her touring efforts in Australia.

Shark’s debut/breakthrough #1 ARIA album and Platinum-certified Love Monster was recognised in 2018 with four ARIA awards (Album of the Year, Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release, Best Producer [Dann Hume]) and was nominated for another five. Love Monster went on to become the highest selling album by an Australian artist for 2018.

On Shark’s latest album, Gold-certified Cry Forever, she teamed up with Blink 182’s Travis Barker on C’Mon’ and global superstar Ed Sheeran to co-write Love Song’s Ain’t For Us featuring Grammy award winning artist Keith Urban.

In 2023, Shark graced the cover of Rolling Stone Australia, supported Coldplay for their stadium shows in Perth and made her debut as a judge on Australia Idol – for which she picked up her first Logie, winning the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.

This win inducted Amy into the illustrious club of Australians who have taken home both an ARIA Award and Logie Award.

2024 saw Amy return to her judging role for a hugely successful second season of Australian Idol.
