Jai Bartlett and RAHILU tease 'Ignorance', a timid love song inspired by fear and loneliness

06 June 2024 - 1 Comment

“Am I in love or just happy I’m not alone?” Jai asks. Unrequited love, self-restraint, and the excitement of connection all come to fruition on this maximalist track.

Last October, Jai Bartlett released a track seemingly out of nowhere. Now, he has a plan — and he has announced the first single from a series of monthly releases, entitled Ignorance. It was made in collaboration with the singer RAHILU, and they previewed the track privately last week for close friends. Ignorance will be released on 21 June.

Ignorance is new territory for Jai, as it leans much more towards mainstream pop. However, his style is still definitely recognisable: we hear maximalist drums, distorted textures, and lyrics that get stuck in your head without you knowing why. However, RAHILU really carries the track further with his anthemic vocals.
