Come along for a special midwinter music showcase at Big Fan for one night only and discover your new favourites in a line-up of rising Pan-Asian-Kiwi musicians. Rippling with soul-healing soundscapes and pulses of underground beats, Moonlit features music by Fēi Lín, Ersha Island 二沙岛, Club Ruby, Varit and Beony.
Presented in partnership with Big Fan with funding support from Albert-Eden Local Board.
There is something in the air – a rising up of local Pan-Asian-Kiwi talent in Aotearoa, and championing of these rising stars.
Sowing the seeds with artist development programmes AIM: Sandbox, AIM: Sandpit, and What’s your Wavelength Workshops – Asians In Music co-founders Clarissa Chai and Mia Caintic have partnered with Big Fan to present the hottest emerging Pan-Asian-Kiwi musical talent in Tāmaki Makaurau.
After a successful Pan-Asian Fan Camp and Residencies, General manager of Big Fan, Savina Fountain says she is “so heartened by the new generation of Kiwi Asian creatives”. She adds “ Some Pan-Asian artists have already started paving the path and it feels like the perfect time to create opportunities for more Kiwi Asians to break through the barriers”.
