Atjazz delivers a stunning remix, adding all-new instrumentation while retaining the original vocal. In true collaborative style, Haines also recorded a flute solo exclusively for this remix. Atjazz is one of soulful dance music’s most prolific and respected producers with a worldwide following.

Come Into The Light features rising Auckland-based vocalist La Coco, the first single from his highly anticipated 11th studio album.

Featuring beats from Frank Booker, with Haines on keys and production, Come Into the Light has a classic West London sound, harking back to Haines’ well-loved UK albums from the early 2000's with a production style very much in vogue in 2024. The track features a classic broken-beat sound with a jazz feel, with soulful vocals from the talented La Coco.

The single is the first release from Haines’ 11th album Notes, set for release August 9. After a 10 year writing and recording period initially starting with UK-based producer Phil Asher, Haines was tasked with finishing the album after Phil’s sudden death three years ago. Completed by Haines alongside collaborators like Marc Mac (4 Hero), Marc de Clive-Lowe, Jkrive (Razor-N-Tape), Frank Booker and more, the resulting album features the jazz-inspired electronic sound which has made Nathan Haines one of NZ’s most acclaimed musical exports and is his most-personal and assured album to date.

Nathan Haines is one of NZ’s most prolific musical exports, fusing jazz and dance music traditions with a discography spanning over 30 years. Well-known as a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer, Nathan Haines is a genre-bending musician with an instantly recognisable sound and approach.

To date, Haines’ acclaimed career has seen him release 10 albums and countless collaborations, highlighted by his classic albums Shift Left, Squire For Hire and Sound Travels. A multiple-time Jazz Album of the Year winner, Haines has spent his musical life at the forefront of both electronic and jazz music in NZ and beyond.

August 9, 2024 will see the release of Haines’ 11th studio album, Notes - his most personal album to date. His first album in over six years, the album features production from legendary UK producer Phil Asher, one of his final projects before his untimely passing in 2021. While still maintaining the jazz sound and influence he is renowned for, the album sees Haines embracing the electronic/house/disco scene with the album sitting on the jazz end of the electronic spectrum.

Haines’ list of collaborators over his storied career includes Damon Albarn, Marlena Shaw, Mark de Clive Lowe and the NZ Symphony Orchestra, alongside current collaborators Flamingo Pier, Frank Booker and Chaos in the CBD.

Nathan Haines is an artist who is pushing the boundaries of both electronic and jazz music and is celebrated in both circles.
