Music News - Karen Clarke Blues Woman releases her latest single 'Bruised and Wondering' on 27 June

Taranaki blues artist Karen Clarke returns with a classic good times blues rhumba that parties like an “Amy Winehouse meets Bo Diddley” backstage affair!
Bruised and Wondering is Clarke’s second track released in collaboration with New Zealand’s premiere bluesman Darren Watson (producer and session musician) as she confidently claims her R’n’B creative whakapapa.
Catchy rhumba grooves start the dance party straight up. Doo-wop style BV’s tease into Clarke’s raw, bluesy vocal story lines. Effortless, tangy electric guitar solos weave through the confessional lyric that calls out undermining relationship behaviour and proclaims the self-worth to move on.
Clarke’s debut music video drops alongside this new track. A retro-themed visual montage in which she makes her first appearance to camera; a personal echo of the song’s “empower yourself” message.
Clarke’s next release–a touch of Louisiana swamp, again with Watson, is already well underway and will drop later in the year
Bruised and Wondering is set for release on Thursday 27 June.
