Silver Scroll nominee and APRA award winning song-writer Matt Langley has released his first full-length album since 2017s’ acoustic gem Winterdust.
The new album, As Real As You Want It To Be was recorded remotely with long-time collaborator, engineer and producer Brett Stanton (The Phoenix Foundation, Hollie Smith, The Cruel Sea, Beasts of Bourbon, Eb & Sparrow, Ebony Lamb among others) in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
As Real As You Want It To Be also features musical contributions from Paul Trigg (Cassette, Poultice, Letterbox Lambs), Clint Meech (Meech Brothers, Anxiety Club), Alex Vaatstra (Julian Temple Band), Chris Winter (Eb & Sparrow) and James Richards.
It has been a long time between drinks for Matt whose previous albums Featherbones, Virginia Avenue and Winterdust garnered critical praise for the depth of their song-writing craft and production.
As Real As You Want It To Be sees Matt evolving even further from his folk/troubadour roots into a heady amalgam of baroque pop and pop/rock with electronic flourishes and melodic hooks all set against beautifully orchestrated backdrops and heavenly harmonies.
Matt continues to work and write in his new home, Japan.
