Plus1 Tour Announcement: Hoodoo Gurus go back to the Stoneage for April 2025 New Zealand Tour

01 August 2024 - 0 Comments

Our favourite gurus, Australia's Hoodoo Gurus, will rock across New Zealand in April for three concerts celebrating 40 years since their seminal debut album Stoneage Romeos.

Plus1 is delighted to present Hoodoo Gurus live in New Zealand:

Thurs 3 April – Meow Nui – Wellington
Friday 4 April – James Hay - Christchurch
Saturday 5 April – Powerstation – Auckland

*The Plus1 48-hour presale begins 9am Tuesday 6th August at plus1.co.nz
Tickets are on general sale at plus1.co.nz from 9am Thursday 8th August.

Hoodoo Gurus’ New Zealand tour is hot on the heels of their massive 47-date tour across the United States and Australia, packed with sold out audiences celebrating the anniversary, and the Stoneage Romeos vinyl collector’s set.

Stoneage Romeos was the Gurus’ debut album and featured the hits Leilani, Tojo, My Girl and I Want You Back. It won Best Debut Album at the 1984 Countdown Awards, and has consistently appeared in the Top 10 on almost every ‘best ever’ Australian album lists.

The album, along with the band’s regular New Zealand tours from 1984 onwards, firmly cemented their Kiwi fanbase. They were last in New Zealand in March 2023, wooing crowds as headliners of the Sounds Series festivals.

Back to the Stoneage 2025 tour will see the band play the Stoneage Romeos album in full followed by a selection of hit songs and fan favourites like What’s My Scene, Bittersweet, Like Wow – Wipeout, 1000 Miles Away, and many more!

Says frontman Dave Faulkner: “We can’t wait to get back to New Zealand. Stoneage Romeos was a pivotal album for us and many of its songs have remained live favourites ever since. It’ll be great to play some of those “less-travelled” songs from it on this tour - even though that means we’ll be playing longer sets to fit everything else in as well. Hah! To my mind that’s a win-win situation.”
