From Dunedin, New Zealand comes Saurian, a four-piece hard rock band who are incredibly pleased to announce Bled Dry will be released Friday the 13th of September. This upcoming 5-song EP includes the band's latest 3 singles, Devil Among Men, Down at the Crown, and Park Bench.
The songs that make up Bled Dry were written over a longer period of time than Saurian's previous EP, Octopedal Rock Unit with some songs being written a number of years ago. The material on this EP was brought to life by Steve Harrop and Tom Havard at Sublime Studios in Kurow. The band took a slightly more complex approach to some of the songs on Bled Dry by exploring what was possible with extra instrumentation and a couple of slower, softer tunes (at least compared to previous releases).
The artwork is a heavily edited image of guitarist, Cameron Ellis' guitar that has been splattered in his blood at many of Saurian's shows with the title Bled Dry referring not only to this imagery but also some of the darker lyrical themes throughout the EP.
Saurian are strong believers in spreading their music by taking it to the people. That's why they're also announcing the Bled Dry EP Release Tour! Commencing on the 21st of September in Dunedin, this whopping 10 date tour will take the band to Wanaka (4 October), Queenstown (5 October), Hamilton (17 October), Auckland (18 October), Wellington (19 October), Barrytown (6 November), Blenheim (7 November), Nelson (8 November), wrapping up in Christchurch on November 9th! Tickets are available through Eventfinda except for Auckland, available through Ding Dong Lounge. Each of these shows will feature local support acts (TBA).
